Tree Service Worker Pinned By Falling Branch In Newark

An arborist was hospitalized after being hit by a falling branch in Newark on Tuesday.

The worker was in pain but was stable after the limb at work on Hansbury Ave. 88 fell on him around 5:20 p.m., Newark police spokeswoman Catherine Adams said.

Initial reports said the worker was pinned under the tree. He was taken to the university hospital for treatment.

Now more than 1.3 million New Jersey residents were without electricity Governor Phil Murphy said the restoration is expected to take a few days.
